Cross-trainings hold a significance in an active learning environment. It refers to providing knowledge and skill-trainings to employees who are working in a different genre; or it can be understood as a skill and knowledge exchange programme within professionals of different fields. This can be done within a team, within an organization or at an inter-organizational level.
Cross-training and its importance has been understood well by experts and therefore they promote it all levels. It boosts the strength of a team because if all in a team are familiar with what is to be done in a specific situation, then the work becomes easy.
