A Review of Flourishing Banking Career Opportunities in India
When we talk about banking career in India, our mind automatically streams to the traditional banking officials who work for a six to seven-hour schedule in banks and keep on dealing with people for the entire day. But now, the trends have changed and people are into more modernized banking.
The advent of online banking, apps, self-help portals and much more have helped people and bankers in easing and minimizing the tasks. Yet the bankers have a lot to do because monitoring of online details of money transfer, cheque-books etc. requires techniques as well as human brains.
So, maybe the front-end tasks have got reduced but the back-end has still its relevance. Through the advent of online banking and apps, the interference of IT operations have increased a lot in banks.
In earlier days, only working with a reputed government bank had importance and the officials were looked upon with huge respect. These people prepared for clerical and official grades exams like IBPS and cracked those to get decent jobs. But later, it became a tough job because of so much competition and crowd.
Among lakhs of applicants, only few hundreds are able to get government jobs as bankers. But yes, apart from IT career in banks, one more career opportunity emerged out. It was becoming a bank exam coach at reputed institutes.
Working in private banks also requires skill-set and the work-culture there is inspired from the corporate world. So, people preparing for government banks can try for private ones if they do not get selected in the government ones. Or, one can straight away try for private jobs in banks.Apart from cashier, clerk, manager and other financial profiles; certain private banks are also having human resource and sales departments. And, just like government banks, a dedicated IT operations department exists in private banks too.
So, the opportunities are many, it is only about the vision and bit change in attitude towards jobs.
